Curry Mela - 24th Week

Hello Friends, here we are, yet again, with the 24th curry mela.. been 24th weeks since I started this as an experiment. We have had a very smooth run of the same for more than 5 months now. I hope that you will continue to enjoy the same for years to come... Cheers

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have, as an opening bell, a very healthy beet based recipe here. Makes a complete meal with kadhi and rice or roti... Check out this Kadhi and Beetroot Palyaa,

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WAJIK, a steamed glutinous rice braised in palm sugar and coconut milk syrup. Now this is an Indian Rice cake... Yummy dessert. It does reminds me of a Manipuri Rice called Chakhao ( meaning tasty rice) which is originally brown in colour and looks exactly like the wajik when cooked. Smells awesome, but the produce of the same rice is very limited, and it is hardly available for commercial production. But the smell is awesome, and anybody who have ever tasted it never forgets it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pudalangai Poriyal - Snake Gourd Curry
, This is another simple Indian Curry, quite healthy. Would love to try it out soon...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I love those banana chips fresh out of the Monstrous Kadhai, check out this simple version of preparing Ash Plantain chips . You can actually prepare it at home!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yummy Dessert, this Kesari Bhaath/Rava Kesari. I can eat tons of this..
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let the picture for itself... Check out this Aperitif, perfect for a party......

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lamb and potato Curry, well, a very simple and easy to cook recipe. Something I have cooked many a times...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Easy Biryani, and hey this is another perfect bachelor recipe... Biryani made simple!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

puranpoli-maharashtra

Puran PoliThe Blogger Writes Puran = any kind of stuffing Poli = flatbread.. I first tasted this amazing, sweet roti/paratha, at Pune. It was 4 years back. Been in love eversince....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Carrot, Courgette and Spinach fritters, trust this blogger to come up with such amazing recipes..
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maple Glazed Salmon with Black Pepper and Ginger, what more can I comment. The picture speaks a thousand words... Classy stuff I tell you..

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Veppilakatti - chutney powder made with lemon/lime leaves , an authentic south Indian Preparation...

Some mouthwatering stuff you got here. All I know how to cook are eggs and hotdogs. Fried, too. Hopefully, this new phenomenon in the blogosphere would give me enough inspiration to learn more. :D Wish me luck!

Hi Anthony,
You are inspiring to cook and post recipes. I know it is hard work to load all the photos and compile, especially when the 'Blogger' wouldn't co-operate.

Keep posting your recipes. My family is a big fan of 'potato, peas and fish head'. I make that atleast twice a month. :D Looking forward to some new recipes.
Well done and keep it up.

This is my entry for this week. http://nilasworld.blogspot.com/2006/07/eggplant-curry-kathirikkai.html
